Watervliet, NY — A 44-year-old Watervliet man, Jesse Kacensky, has been arrested following a reported burglary in which he allegedly stripped a residence of key infrastructure and personal belongings.
Watervliet Police responded to a home on June 18 around 4:30 p.m. after receiving a report of an open rear door. Upon arrival, the homeowner confirmed a break-in, noting that electrical, plumbing, and heating components had been removed, along with various personal items.
Neighbors reported seeing a man, believed to be cleaning up the exterior of the property, who was later seen heading toward a nearby location. Surveillance footage helped police identify the suspect as Kacensky, who was arrested the following day, June 19.
Kacensky faces the following charges:
Burglary in the Second Degree
Grand Larceny in the Third Degree
Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree
Police praised the community for its vigilance. “The quick resolution to this case highlights the vital role that engaged members of our community play,” said the Watervliet Police Department.
