AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department’s Narcotics Support Unit arrested 33-year-old Jesse Carrillo following a lengthy investigation into a drug trafficking network operating in Downtown and East Austin.
Carrillo was taken into custody on September 3 at a residence on 91 Red River Street. He faces charges of money laundering, a second-degree felony, and delivery of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony.
During the search, officers confiscated a significant quantity of illegal substances and cash, including:
20.4 pounds of marijuana
194 THC vape cartridges
2,900 grams of psilocybin-laced candy bars
8.6 grams of cocaine
Over $200,000 in cash
Police say additional felony charges are expected as the investigation continues.
In a statement, the Austin Police Department emphasized its commitment to dismantling drug distribution networks that endanger the community.
“This case reflects the ongoing work of APD’s specialized units to identify, investigate, and hold accountable those involved in organized drug trafficking within the city,” officials said.
