AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department’s Narcotics Support Unit arrested 33-year-old Jesse Carrillo on September 3 following a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking and distribution in Downtown and East Austin.

Carrillo was taken into custody at a residence on 91 Red River Street and charged with money laundering, a second-degree felony, and delivery of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony.

During the search, officers seized 20.4 pounds of marijuana, 194 THC vape cartridges, 2,900 grams of suspected psilocybin-infused candy bars, 8.6 grams of cocaine, and over $200,000 in cash. Additional felony charges are expected as the investigation continues.

The Austin Police Department highlighted its ongoing efforts to dismantle organized drug networks that threaten public safety.

“This case reflects the ongoing work of APD’s specialized units to identify, investigate, and hold accountable those involved in organized drug trafficking within the city,” the department said.
