Jer’hard Doane Duriso Arrested in Deadly Chandler Hit-and-Run

CHANDLER, Ariz. — Police have arrested Jer’hard Doane Duriso in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that occurred near downtown Chandler last week.

The incident happened early Thursday morning near Chandler Boulevard and Delaware Street, where 40-year-old Obed Guadalupe Duarte-Leyva, who was riding a mini bike, was found critically injured at the scene. He was transported to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries, police confirmed.

Following an extensive investigation, Chandler police detectives identified Duriso as the suspected driver who fled the scene. Officers arrested him outside a residence in Mesa.

Duriso is now facing a felony charge for leaving the scene of a deadly accident. Police have not yet released a booking photo.

The investigation is ongoing.
