HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS (KIAH) — Two parents have been charged with murder in the tragic death of their 4-month-old daughter, Brookelynn Fancher, whose body was discovered in a motel dresser drawer in May 2024.
According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, deputies responded to the scene on Rancho Mission Drive on May 26, 2024. The child’s parents, Jeremy Fancher and Destiny Campos, had reportedly been living at the motel for over a year.
On Saturday, authorities confirmed that Campos was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, while Fancher was later taken into custody in Tom Green County.
A third individual, Marilyn Jennifer Mork, who is reportedly Fancher’s current girlfriend, has also been arrested and charged with hindering apprehension, suggesting she may have helped him avoid capture.
Sheriff Gonzalez shared the update via social media, praising law enforcement teams for their persistence. “I’m glad our team has remained relentless and sought justice for this precious infant,” Gonzalez said. He added that these arrests bring them one step closer to accountability for baby Brookelynn.
Authorities have not released further details about the condition in which the infant was found or the cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing.
