Jeremiah Allen, 51, has been sentenced to life in prison for trafficking methamphetamine and delivering cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and bath salts. The sentence was handed down by Ada County District Judge Nancy Baskin on Wednesday, with Allen required to serve 20 years before becoming eligible for parole.
In February 2024, Boise police responded to a residence on Fairview Avenue where they found Talia Salzano, who was later confirmed to have died from an overdose. Allen was present at the scene, prompting a thorough investigation. Surveillance footage revealed that Allen had delivered a lethal combination of controlled substances to Salzano, leading to her overdose and death. Authorities also discovered 154 grams of methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia in Allen’s possession.
In November 2024, an Ada County jury convicted Allen on four counts of delivery of a controlled substance and one count of trafficking methamphetamine. The following month, Allen pleaded guilty to an additional charge of trafficking methamphetamine from a separate investigation.
Ada County Prosecutor Jan Bennetts expressed her condolences to Salzano’s family and emphasized that Allen’s sentence should serve as a deterrent for those looking to distribute illegal and dangerous drugs in the community. “This investigation led by Boise Police detectives undoubtedly removed hundreds of doses of dangerous and deadly drugs from our community,” Bennetts said. “These partnerships are crucial in our mission of public safety.”
Allen’s conviction marks a significant step in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking and the overdose crisis in Boise and surrounding areas.
