GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) — A Gulfport woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly fleeing from police and being found in possession of methamphetamine.

Jennifer Parfait, 44, was arrested and charged with felony fleeing and possession of methamphetamines following a chase that ended in her arrest last Friday afternoon.

According to Gulfport Police, motorcycle officers observed Parfait running a red light on Cowan Road around 12:30 p.m. Officers attempted to stop her, but she refused to comply, continuing to drive until she reached a dead-end road.

Authorities say Parfait then attempted to escape on foot and hid in nearby woods, where she was located and taken into custody a short time later.

In addition to the current charges, police confirmed that Parfait has outstanding felony warrants in Hancock, Pearl River, and Harrison counties.

She remains in custody as authorities continue to investigate the full extent of her criminal activity.
