Jennifer Michelle Albro Arrested After Baby Tests Positive for Drugs

Newborn found with amphetamines, opioids; mother charged

COVINGTON COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – A woman from Andalusia, Alabama, has been arrested after her one-week-old newborn tested positive for amphetamines and opioids, according to local law enforcement.

Jennifer Michelle Albro, 39, was taken into custody Wednesday morning and charged with chemical endangerment of a child. She was booked into the Covington County Jail with bond set at $500,000.

Sgt. Al McGraw of the Covington County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the infant is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Pensacola, where they were born.

Authorities have not released further details on the condition of the child, but the investigation is ongoing.
