GONZALES, La. — Jennifer Delatte, 51, the owner of Renu Wellness on South Burnside Avenue, has been arrested on charges of exploitation of the elderly, the Gonzales Police Department announced.
Detectives began investigating Delatte’s business in August 2024 after receiving reports of questionable practices. It was found that beginning in April 2024, Delatte allegedly exploited two elderly victims, aged 82 and 83, for financial gain.
Authorities say Delatte sold the victims overpriced massage packages totaling $3,600 and later pressured them for additional payments by claiming she needed to meet sales goals and citing personal hardships. In total, investigators say Delatte obtained approximately $8,550 from the two victims.
Delatte was taken into custody on September 10 at her business, Renu Wellness, and booked into Ascension Parish Jail.
