HADLEY, NY — A Northumberland woman is in custody following a violent assault incident at the Stewart’s Pond boat launch in Hadley early Sunday morning.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded around 2:20 a.m. to an emergency call involving multiple assaults. Jenna M. Helenek, 21, is accused of stabbing a person in the chest with a knife, as well as punching two others in the face and biting one of them on the stomach.
The stabbing victim was initially transported to Glens Falls Hospital by private vehicle and later transferred to Albany Medical Center for further treatment. The two other victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at Glens Falls Hospital and Malta Med Emergent Care.
Helenek was arraigned before Judge Michael T. Woodcock in Corinth Town Court and charged with the following:
Assault in the 1st degree (Class B felony)
Two counts of assault in the 3rd degree
Criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree (Class A misdemeanor)
She has been remanded to the Saratoga County Jail and awaits further proceedings in Hadley Town Court.
