WEST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) – Jeimy Rodrigues, 39, from West Hartford, was sentenced to five years in federal prison for his role in a large-scale drug trafficking operation involving fentanyl and cocaine. Rodrigues was also sentenced to four years of supervised release following his prison term.

The investigation into Rodrigues’ drug trafficking activities began in July 2022, led by Hartford officials. The probe involved wiretaps, surveillance, controlled purchases of narcotics, and other investigative techniques. At the time of the investigation, Rodrigues was the president of the Loose Cannonz motorcycle club.

Authorities discovered that Rodrigues, along with co-defendants, was receiving shipments of fentanyl and cocaine for distribution throughout the Hartford area. In the spring of 2023, controlled purchases led to the seizure of about 80 grams of fentanyl and cocaine from Rodrigues. The cocaine, which appeared to be broken off from a kilogram brick, was part of the investigation.

On June 7, 2023, Rodrigues was arrested. Authorities found two firearms at his residence and additional fentanyl at the Loose Cannonz club, further linking him to the drug trade.

Rodrigues pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl. As a result, he was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison and four years of supervised release.

U.S. Attorney Vanessa Roberts Avery commended the efforts of investigators in dismantling this significant drug trafficking operation.
