MILLBROOK, Ala. — A 55-year-old Millbrook man, Jeffrey Porter, has been arrested twice in recent weeks for theft of property, including a repeat offense at the same local business.
The first incident occurred on September 24, 2025, when Porter allegedly entered a business on the 1100 block of Highway 14, taking merchandise without paying. A warrant for Theft of Property 4th Degree was issued, and Porter was arrested on November 6 during a traffic stop. He was processed and released on bond.
Just two days later, on November 8, Porter allegedly returned to the same business and again left without paying for beer and other items. This led to a second theft warrant and a bond revocation.
On November 10, Millbrook police located Porter on Nixon Road, arresting him on the outstanding warrants. He was transported to the Elmore County Jail pending court appearances.
Police remind the public that businesses in Millbrook use surveillance and loss prevention, and thefts are actively prosecuted. Officials urge residents to pay for merchandise or avoid shopping if they cannot pay, warning, as the saying goes, “Insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly, expecting a different outcome.”
