EAGLE SPRINGS, N.C. — A narcotics investigation led to the arrest of three individuals in the Eagle Springs area of Moore County on July 23, according to Sheriff Ronnie Fields of the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Sawgrass Road, seizing a variety of illegal substances and items. Among the recovered materials were:
Suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana
Suboxone, oxycodone, and other Schedule II and III controlled substances
Non-tax-paid alcohol
Various pieces of drug paraphernalia
As a result of the operation, Jeffery Spencer, 45, and Tefenie Spencer, 50, both of Eagle Springs, were taken into custody and face multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including:
Trafficking in opium or heroin by possession
Possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule II controlled substances
Felony possession of Schedule II controlled substances
Maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances
Simple possession of Schedule II and III substances
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of non-tax-paid alcohol
Jeffery Spencer is being held on a $75,000 secured bond, while Tefenie Spencer is held on a $100,000 secured bond. Both are scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on August 7.
A third person, Cecily Powell, 37, also of Eagle Springs, was charged with simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is under a 48-hour hold and is expected to appear in court on July 31.
Authorities remind the public that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
