A Nepali man named Jeet Bahadur has been arrested in Kotkhai, approximately 60 km from Shimla, for allegedly killing his wife, Deepa, during a violent domestic altercation.
The incident came to light when Ramesh Dangi, a fellow Nepali labourer, discovered Deepa unconscious and covered in bruises. He informed his employer, Hari Krishan Dhanta, who alerted authorities.
Police arrived at the scene on Sunday evening and found Deepa’s body with multiple injury marks, confirming signs of physical assault.
During the initial investigation, Jeet Bahadur admitted to hitting his wife with a wooden stick on Saturday night. He claimed the attack occurred during a heated argument, which escalated into physical violence and ultimately resulted in her death.
The case is being treated as homicide, and a formal investigation is underway under applicable criminal provisions.
