GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro man was arrested in connection with a violent incident that allegedly took place late last month.
23-year-old Jaylan Maki Robbins was taken into custody on Jan. 3, 2026, and faces multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflict serious injury, possession of a firearm by a felon, and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.
According to arrest warrants, the incident occurred on Dec. 29, 2025. Robbins is accused of attempting to kill two people with malice aforethought and assaulting them with a handgun.
Authorities also allege Robbins attempted to steal approximately $250 worth of marijuana from the victims while threatening them with a firearm, putting their lives at risk.
Robbins is being held without bond at the Pitt County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear at the Wayne County Courthouse on Jan. 6, 2026.
