LUBBOCK, Texas — Javondrick Washington, 29, was arrested Thursday in Lubbock after allegedly resisting arrest and being found in possession of ecstasy and a handgun during a traffic incident at Logie’s Bar, according to court documents.
Washington was a passenger in a vehicle that became stuck on a curb as the driver attempted to leave a parking lot. A nearby police officer approached and asked that the vehicle be placed in park. Washington, however, rolled the window up, put the car in drive, and instructed the driver to flee the scene—twice.
When the driver hesitated and attempted to comply with the officer, Washington again intervened. The officer then smashed the window with a baton and attempted to arrest Washington, who fled on foot. After deploying a taser twice, the officer wrestled Washington to the ground and took him into custody.
A search of the vehicle revealed two ecstasy pills and a handgun near the center console. Washington has a prior criminal history, including a February 2023 allegation of assaulting a pregnant woman and confirmed gang affiliation with the Crips, per court records.
As of Monday, Washington remains in custody at the Lubbock County Detention Center with bonds totaling $200,995.
