A joint operation by local police and Military Intelligence in Meerut led to the arrest of Jaswant, a resident of Bulandshahr, for allegedly cheating Territorial Army recruitment candidates. Jaswant reportedly promised placements in exchange for money.
Following a complaint by Sushil Sharma, Jaswant was apprehended with Rs 2.47 lakh, believed to be part of the fraudulent proceeds. The complainant reported a total loss of Rs 60,000 online and Rs 2.5 lakh in cash after the promised placements failed to materialize.
An FIR has been filed against Jaswant and three unidentified accomplices. Police, acting on a tip-off, caught Jaswant and are actively investigating to locate the remaining members of the network.
