SCOTT COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) – Jason Stepp, a convicted sex offender from Scott City, Missouri, was arrested on Monday, June 23 for failing to register as a sex offender, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies took Stepp into custody on an outstanding warrant, and he is currently being held in the Scott County Jail on a $60,000 cash or surety bond.

Authorities say that during the investigation, Stepp allegedly provided false information on his previous sex offender registry paperwork. As a result, he could face additional charges.
