LENOIR COUNTY, NC – A former treasurer of the Sudan Motor Patrol, part of the Lenoir County Shrine Club, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of Embezzlement by a Public Office or Trustee, according to the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).

Jason Leon Cash, 43, was taken into custody on Friday, July 11, following an investigation launched in March 2025 after officials from the Shrine Club reported suspected financial misconduct.

According to LCSO, the investigation revealed a series of unauthorized purchases and withdrawals made using the Shrine Club’s financial card. Cash was identified as the individual responsible for the unapproved transactions.

He was arrested and brought before a magistrate, receiving a $50,000 bond. His first court appearance is set for Monday, July 14.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and further updates may be provided as more information becomes available.
