MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — A man from Silver Spring, Maryland, has been arrested in connection with a 2022 homicide at the Summit Hills apartment complex.
Jason Duane Moore, 47, was taken into custody Tuesday for the death of 29-year-old Nathaniel Potts.
On December 2, 2022, at around 3:05 a.m., Potts was found with gunshot wounds in the parking lot on the 8500 block of 16th Street. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at a nearby hospital. Authorities noted Potts was killed on his birthday.
Nearly three years later, Montgomery County Police identified Moore as a suspect. An arrest warrant was issued on September 1, 2025, and Moore was arrested the next day.
He faces charges of first-degree murder, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, first-degree assault, and second-degree assault.
