CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — A Carlisle man has been arrested after police say he threatened employees during an attempted robbery at a Sheetz convenience store.
According to Middlesex Township Police, Jason David Scott, 45, was taken into custody on March 11 and charged with robbery, terroristic threats, simple assault, and criminal mischief.
Officers responded to the Sheetz on Harrisburg Pike after reports that a man was threatening staff while demanding cash. Investigators said Scott allegedly claimed he had both a bomb and a gun during the incident.
Police secured the area and called in assistance from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department explosive detection K9 unit. After searching the building, authorities determined the store was safe and no explosives were found.
During the investigation, officers located Scott at a nearby motel, where he was taken into custody. Police also identified him as a suspect in a theft at a Motel 6 and damage to a vending machine at the Appalachian Hotel.
Scott is currently being held at Cumberland County Prison after being unable to post bail.
