LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — After a six-month investigation, Lake County deputies arrested 22-year-old Jartavious Coleman Tuesday on multiple drug trafficking charges.
The probe began following complaints from a concerned citizen regarding a drug trafficking ring operating out of the Leesburg area. Undercover detectives soon identified Coleman as the central figure in the operation.
Already on probation for cocaine possession, Coleman was alleged to be distributing narcotics across Lake, Sumter, Marion, and Putnam counties.
During the investigation, law enforcement executed several search warrants with support from the Mid-Florida SWAT teams. Authorities seized approximately 2.5 pounds of methamphetamine, 5 ounces of cocaine, 1 ounce of fentanyl, 4 pounds of cannabis, numerous clandestine oxycodone pills, and nine firearms — two of which were reported stolen from Lake County.
The street value of the seized drugs is estimated at around $20,000.
Coleman now faces numerous felony charges, including:
Conspiracy and trafficking in methamphetamine over 200 grams
Trafficking in methamphetamine over 28 grams (two counts)
Conspiracy and trafficking in cocaine
Trafficking in fentanyl over 4 grams (two counts)
Possession and sale of cocaine
Conspiracy to possess buprenorphine (Suboxone)
Possession of property and conveyance for drug trafficking
Possession of methamphetamine
Unlawful use of a two-way communication device
Given Coleman’s probation status and the severity of the charges, he was ordered held without bond by a judge at his initial appearance.
Coleman’s next court date is scheduled for September 8 as the investigation continues.
