A Moore County man has been arrested following an investigation into the alleged sexual exploitation of a minor.
Authorities identified the suspect as 41-year-old Jarrod Rogers of Carthage, North Carolina. According to Sheriff Ronnie Fields, the investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children provided information that led forensic specialists to Rogers.
On January 22, investigators, with the assistance of Special Agents from the NC State Bureau of Investigations Computer Crimes Unit, executed a search warrant at his residence.
As a result, Rogers faces five counts of felony Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and five counts of felony Third-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
Rogers is currently held at the Moore County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on February 19.
The Moore County Sheriff’s Office participates in the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (NCICAC) Taskforce, which works to prevent online exploitation and abuse of children.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
