BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (WJHL) — Jarrod Gentry, 47, was arrested Friday afternoon on suspicion of multiple charges, including domestic violence, child endangerment, and resisting arrest, after a viral social media post showed an alleged incident of abuse.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, Gentry was taken into custody on suspicion of two counts of felony domestic violence, two counts of child endangerment, and resisting arrest. The arrest followed a video that surfaced online showing a man allegedly spitting and kicking a woman outside a home on Rodeo Avenue near Old Farm Road.
Police became aware of the viral video and received a report about the incident, which took place on February 13. However, the incident was not reported to authorities until February 25. Officials confirmed that the charges stemmed from the viral video and another incident involving Gentry on Friday.
As the investigation continues, the department is working to address the serious allegations and ensure the safety of those involved.
