Jarrel Broussard Charged with DWI After Fatal Austin Crash

Pedestrian Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-35

AUSTIN, Texas — A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) after a deadly collision on Interstate 35 that left a pedestrian dead, according to the Austin Police Department.

Authorities say Jarrel A. Broussard was taken into custody following the crash, which occurred around 11:36 p.m. Saturday in the 6100 block of North IH-35 southbound.

The crash involved multiple vehicles and a pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not yet released the victim’s identity pending family notification.

The incident marks Austin’s 69th fatal crash of 2025. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to review evidence and interview witnesses.
