ROCK HILL, S.C. — Rock Hill police have arrested Jaquavious Marcel White in connection with a deadly shooting on Nov. 28 that left one person dead and another critically injured.

White has been charged with attempted armed robbery and criminal conspiracy related to the incident, which occurred around 12:30 a.m. near the 2300 block of Eden Terrace at Arrowhead Drive.

Officers responding to the scene found 18-year-old Tyjah Brevard outside an apartment complex. Brevard was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man, later identified as White, was found inside the apartment with multiple gunshot wounds and taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Investigators determined that White and Brevard conspired to rob two men. During the attempted robbery, one of the victims shot the suspects in self-defense, according to police.

After receiving treatment for his injuries, White was released from the hospital. On Dec. 11, he was taken into custody on the charges.

White is scheduled for a bond hearing in Rock Hill Municipal Court on Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. Authorities say the investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing.

This case underscores ongoing concerns about violent crime and armed robberies in Rock Hill.
