Jaquavious Devoise Arrested in Auburn Vehicle Burglaries

Teen Faces Multiple Auto Burglary and Theft Charges

by Sophia Bennett

AUBURN, Ala. – Jaquavious La’Michael Devoise, 18, of Opelika, was arrested on Feb. 4 on felony warrants charging him with three counts of unlawful breaking and entering into a vehicle and one count of second-degree theft of property.

The Auburn Police Department began investigating in late January after noticing suspicious activity near the 700 block of West Magnolia Avenue, consistent with recent auto burglaries in Auburn and surrounding areas. Officers responded to the scene and contacted Devoise along with a 16-year-old juvenile.

Multiple stolen items were recovered, with some property initially confirmed as stolen linked to the juvenile, who had been arrested on Jan. 22 for similar auto burglary charges. Further investigation confirmed that items in Devoise’s possession were also stolen, leading to his arrest.

Detectives continue to investigate a series of recent vehicle burglaries across Auburn. Authorities are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and report any suspicious activity immediately.
