A suspected theft spree ended Sunday morning when Suffolk County police confronted a woman accused of breaking into vehicles in Mastic, New York.
Authorities identified the suspect as 38-year-old Janelle Edwards, who was stopped outside 109 Poospatuck Lane shortly after 9 a.m., according to the Suffolk County Police Department Seventh Precinct Investigative Unit.
During the investigation, officers learned that Edwards was wanted in connection with several other incidents across the Shirley and Mastic areas throughout February. She is accused of multiple thefts, including:
$827 worth of nasal spray from the Stop & Shop at 999 Montauk Highway in Shirley on Feb. 13
Cash from two unlocked cars on Revilo Avenue in Shirley on Feb. 27
A wallet stolen after breaking a car window on Bullard Street in Mastic on Feb. 27
Food taken from the Handy Pantry at 630 Mastic Road in Mastic Beach on Feb. 28
Edwards has been charged with five counts of petit larceny and one count of fourth-degree criminal mischief.
