A 30-year-old woman has been charged after police say she stole more than $3 million along with household items from the home of her former boyfriend in St Catherine.

According to the Old Harbour Police, Janalee Nesbeth, of Vineyard Estate in Old Harbour, has been charged with larceny from the dwelling.

Police allege that Nesbeth was given a key to the complainant’s home while the two were in a relationship.

Investigators say that over time the man noticed money missing from the residence. While searching his bedroom for the missing cash, he reportedly discovered that several items had also disappeared, including a 75-inch television, a stove, and more than $3 million in cash.

The incident was reported to the police, who later conducted a search of Nesbeth’s residence as part of the investigation.

Authorities said Nesbeth subsequently turned herself in to officers.

She was arrested and formally charged on Sunday, May 11, following a question-and-answer session conducted in the presence of her attorney.

Police say arrangements are currently being made for her upcoming court appearance.
