Hajin Police on Wednesday arrested an alleged drug peddler and seized a large quantity of narcotic substances during a naka checking operation in Baharabad Hajin.
Acting on specific intelligence, a police team from Police Station Hajin, led by the Station House Officer (SHO), intercepted a pedestrian carrying a nylon bag after noticing suspicious movement in the area. Upon conducting a search, officials recovered 5 kilograms and 800 grams of bhang powder, along with 800 grams of charas powder, from the bag.
The accused has been identified as Jamsheed Ahmad Wagay, son of Gh Mohd Wagay, a resident of Hakabara Hajin.
Following the recovery, police registered FIR No. 15/2026 under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Hajin. Further investigation is currently underway to determine the source and intended distribution of the seized narcotics.
