SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Two men, Jamond Reid and Jatwone Reid, both aged 24, have been arrested and charged in connection with a July 25, 2024, homicide on Highway 204 near Interstate 95 in Chatham County.

According to the Chatham County Police Department, both brothers have been charged with one count of murder and two counts of aggravated assault in the shooting death of 25-year-old Tre’von Moorer.

Moorer was reportedly driving on Highway 204 when he was approached by armed individuals and fatally shot.

Authorities clarified that although the suspects share the same last name and age, they are not twins.

Additional records show Jamond Reid is a convicted felon with a violent criminal history. In September 2022, he was convicted of aggravated assault and later charged in September 2023 with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was sentenced to 10 years of probation in June 2024, just one month before the Highway 204 incident.

In May 2025, Jamond was again arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and aggravated assault, prompting the state to file a petition to revoke his bond. His probation calendar call is scheduled for August 14, 2025.

The Chatham County Police stated that no further comments or additional information will be released at this time.
