SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A South Carolina woman admitted to running a multi-year, multimillion-dollar fraud scheme involving Utah ski passes.
Jamilla Greene, 34, was charged via felony information on December 1, 2025, and pleaded guilty in federal court, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Greene defrauded buyers by advertising “discounted” ski and snowboard passes, including Ikon and Epic passes. When people clicked on the offers, Greene used stolen or different bank card information to purchase the passes at full price. She then collected payments from victims via Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, and Apple Pay, depositing the money into her and her co-conspirators’ accounts.
Salt Lake County Sheriff Rosie Rivera called it the largest fraud case investigated by her office since reinstating the Law Enforcement Bureau. “We are committed to working with federal agencies to ensure accountability,” she said.
U.S. Attorney Melissa Holyoak noted that the scheme victimized ski resorts, skiers, and individuals whose financial information was stolen. “Fraud in any form will not be tolerated,” she said. “We will continue to seek justice for the victims.”
Greene is scheduled to be sentenced on February 24, 2026, in Salt Lake City. The case highlights the risks of online scams and the importance of vigilance when purchasing passes or products advertised at unusually low prices.
