JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — Jameshia Chaves, 33, has been arrested and charged with Capital Murder following a fatal shooting late Saturday night in Brighton, Alabama.
Jefferson County deputies responded at approximately 9:43 p.m. to the 4000 block of Letson Street after reports of a person down. Upon arrival, officers found a 39-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Chaves is currently held at Jefferson County Jail without bond as the investigation continues.
