MONROE COUNTY, GA — A Middle Georgia man was arrested Monday morning after authorities discovered methamphetamine, a firearm, and stolen property during a joint investigation.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the Criminal Investigations and Uniform Patrol Divisions were assisting Bibb County officials at a property on Gibson Road when they made the arrest.

During the search, deputies found methamphetamine, a firearm, and several items believed to be stolen. Some of the recovered property was linked to a storage unit burglary in Macon, while other items are still being traced to their rightful owners.

The suspect, 40-year-old James Moore, was taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He remains in the Monroe County Jail without bond. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.

Authorities urge anyone who suspects their property was stolen from a storage unit in the Middle Georgia area to contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 478-994-7011 or reach out to Investigators Posey or Maples directly.
