A 58-year-old woman was tragically found dead at a property in Rodney Road, Elephant & Castle, on December 14. Police responded at 2:23 pm after concerns were raised for her welfare. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that her family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
A 53-year-old man, James Flanagan of Stead Street, North Walworth, was arrested at the scene on the same day. He was subsequently charged with Julie Wilson’s murder on December 17.
Flanagan appeared at Croydon Magistrates Court on December 18 and was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on December 22. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
