CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A man with a history of multiple theft convictions is facing a new felony charge after allegedly shoplifting from a Cheyenne department store in September.
James D. Estrada was identified following an alleged theft of a pair of Levi’s jeans valued at $48 on Sept. 4 at JCPenney. A store manager provided police with a photo of the suspect. Mall security later recovered the stolen jeans from a planter box outside the store and returned them to the store.
Court records show Estrada has five previous theft convictions in Wyoming and Colorado, including a 2017 conviction in Laramie County and convictions in Colorado in 2017, 2019, and 2023.
Estrada has been charged with felony burglary and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
