James Damond Edwards Arrested in Topeka Robbery Case

Speaker theft reported near SW 6th and Western Ave

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A 39-year-old man was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Jail following a robbery reported Monday afternoon just west of downtown Topeka.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m. near the intersection of SW 6th and Western Avenues. Authorities said an individual approached officers to report the theft of a speaker.

After investigating the report, Topeka police arrested James Damond Edwards in connection with the robbery and theft. He was taken into custody at 4:25 p.m. and booked into the Shawnee County Jail.

As of Tuesday morning, Edwards was being held without bond as the investigation continues.
