GARRARD COUNTY, KY – Two individuals are behind bars after a multi-county police chase that ended with the discovery of a large quantity of drugs in their vehicle, according to the Garrard County Sheriff’s Office.
The chase began early Monday in Jessamine County and continued through Garrard County before ending in Boyle County near Wells Landing Road.
Following the pursuit, deputies found a “large amount” of methamphetamine and heroin in the vehicle. The two suspects, 52-year-old James Bixler and 40-year-old Andrea Coomer, were taken into custody.
Charges:
James Bixler, who has 19 felony convictions and is currently on parole, was charged with:
Trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine and heroin) – 1st degree
Parole violation warrant
Fleeing or evading police (Anderson County warrant)
Andrea Coomer, with seven prior felony convictions, was charged with:
Trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine and heroin) – 1st degree
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Tampering with physical evidence
Fleeing or evading police
Both suspects are currently lodged at the Jessamine County Detention Center. Authorities say the case remains under investigation.
