SHREVEPORT, La. – A FedEx driver has been arrested in Shreveport after being caught allegedly stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise from packages.

On August 13th around 1:30 p.m., officers with the Shreveport Police Department responded to a theft in progress at 7044 Youree Drive, a strip mall home to several connected retail businesses.

Police were alerted to a man wearing a FedEx uniform who was seen tampering with packages. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple boxes that had been opened using a knife. The suspect, identified as Jalen Page, was observed removing items from the packages.

Inside Page’s FedEx truck, authorities found over $25,000 in stolen merchandise, including goods from well-known retailers such as Buckle, Best Buy, Rack Room Shoes, American Eagle, Lululemon, and Sports Spectrum, among others.

Detectives from the SPD Property Crimes Unit joined the investigation and have charged Page with three counts of Organized Retail Theft. They believe the case is still active, with additional stolen items being recovered and more victims being identified.

The SPD thanked vigilant citizens for reporting suspicious activity and credited their patrol officers and detectives for quickly intervening and initiating the recovery of stolen property.

Authorities are continuing to process evidence and return stolen merchandise to the rightful businesses.
