Jaiquawn Powell Arrested for Second-Degree Murder in Danville

Woman killed at party; second suspect charged as accessory

DANVILLE, Va. — The Danville Police Department has arrested Jaiquawn Amos Powell, 28, on a charge of second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting during a party early Sunday morning.

Police responded to a noise complaint at a home on the 100 block of Cooper Street at 3:36 a.m. After dispersing the party, officers heard a single gunshot. Upon returning, they found 23-year-old Ketasha Fuller of Danville suffering from a gunshot wound. Fuller was transported to a hospital but later died from her injuries.

Police released video footage showing an argument between Fuller and a man, identified as Powell, before he pulled a handgun and shot her.

Additionally, 33-year-old Darius Damon Dallis Walters was arrested and charged as an accessory after the fact.

Authorities continue their investigation into the deadly incident.
