PUEBLO, Colo. — Jaiden Maes, an 18-year-old woman, was arrested early Sunday morning after being involved in a street racing incident that led to a crash and significant damage to a home.

Around 12:20 a.m., Pueblo Police observed three vehicles racing in the 3200 block of Pueblo Boulevard. Shortly after, one of the vehicles veered off the road and crashed into a home on Elmwood Circle.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found two females inside the vehicle. Maes was identified as the driver. As they waited for firefighters, the vehicle’s engine caught fire, prompting officers to quickly evacuate the occupants.

Both were taken to the hospital, with the passenger suffering serious, though non-life-threatening injuries. Maes was not injured.

She was arrested and taken to the Pueblo County jail, facing charges of Vehicular Reckless Assault, Operating an Uninsured Vehicle, Driving Without a Valid License, and Displaying an Expired Number Plate. The investigation continues.
