In a late-night operation, Punjab Police arrested two motorcycle-borne suspects near Daliri village and recovered a significant quantity of heroin along with a firearm.
The accused have been identified as Jagbir Singh Jaggu, a resident of Kale village, and Kishan Pal Singh Babbu from Dall village.
According to police, the operation was led by Sub-Inspector Gursahib Singh of Khalra Police, who intercepted the suspects on Friday night.
During the search, officials recovered 270 grams of heroin, a broken pistol, two mobile phones, and a motorcycle from their possession.
A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 21-C, 29, 61, and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
Police said further investigation is underway to determine the source of the drugs and whether the accused are part of a larger trafficking network.
