CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — Three men and a juvenile were apprehended after an attempted ATM theft led to a police pursuit and crash near Interstate 74, according to officials.

Authorities identified the adult suspects as Jacoby K. Arceneaux, 23, Ernest N. Brown, 21, and Kevon M. Sloan, 22. A fourth suspect, a juvenile, has not been named.

Police say the group used a stolen pickup truck to try to rip an ATM from its base at The Fountain Trust Co. bank on East Main Street around 4:35 p.m. Sunday. The machine was dragged into a nearby parking lot, but the suspects were unable to access any money before fleeing in another vehicle.

Officers pursued the suspects, and the chase ended when their vehicle crashed near I-74. All four attempted to flee on foot but were tracked and located using a police drone and K-9 unit.

The suspects were treated for exhaustion and crash-related concerns before the three adults were booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

Preliminary charges include theft, criminal mischief, auto theft, and organized theft, while a detention order was issued for the juvenile. Officials say the FBI has been notified, and federal charges may follow.
