MERIDIAN, Idaho (CBS2) — Police have arrested an Oregon man linked to a string of crimes in Meridian and Boise over the past several days.

Authorities say Jacob Klein, 29, of Springfield, Oregon, was taken into custody on Friday near West Fairview Avenue and North Orchard Street in Boise.

According to police, the crime spree began on October 22 around 6:20 p.m., when Klein allegedly stole a golf cart from a juvenile at Settlers Park in Meridian. Officers say he used physical force and threatened the victim with a box cutter and scissors before fleeing.

In the early hours of October 23, Klein reportedly stole a black Volkswagen Jetta from a home on North Haven Cove Avenue in Meridian. Later that night, Boise Police attempted to stop him, but Klein fled, abandoning the vehicle near West Fairview Avenue and North Orchard Street.

On October 24, officers found Klein in the same area. After a brief foot pursuit, he was arrested in the parking lot of TDI Auto Sales. Police said Klein resisted arrest but was subdued and taken to a hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Ada County Jail.

Klein faces charges of robbery and grand theft auto, and investigators say additional charges may follow as the case continues.
