JASPER COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) — Jacob Hunter James, 17, of Jasper, has been arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation following a break-in that occurred while the property owner was out of town.
On July 22 at approximately 11:28 a.m., the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary near the intersection of Highway 63 West and Recreation Road 255.
Investigators learned that 24 guns were taken from the residence without the owner’s consent. After gathering information at the scene, law enforcement identified two suspects—an adult and a juvenile—and secured arrest warrants.
James was identified as the adult suspect and taken into custody. The juvenile suspect’s identity has not been released due to age, but they were also arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation, currently held at a juvenile facility.
