Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jackson Police Officer Jonathan Debczak on Saturday, October 12, following a reported domestic violence incident. The arrest occurred around 11:17 p.m. after deputies responded to a 911 call indicating a disturbance on South West Avenue near Audubon Avenue in Jackson.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies identified Debczak, 38, as the driver of the vehicle associated with the call. Due to the involvement of an officer, the investigation was handed over to the sheriff’s department.
Debczak faces several serious charges, including:
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault)
- Operating While Intoxicated – Child Endangerment (for having a minor passenger)
- Domestic Violence
He has since been released on a personal recognizance bond. As the investigation unfolds, Debczak has been placed on administrative leave from the Jackson Police Department.
