PORT ALLEN, La. (WAFB) — A traffic stop in West Baton Rouge Parish led to a significant drug bust and the arrest of a local woman, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Jackie Honore, 44, of Port Allen, was pulled over around 10 a.m. on Friday, April 25, on Rosehill Drive near Bueche Road for a traffic violation. During the stop, deputies discovered a loaded handgun, crack cocaine, marijuana, synthetic marijuana, a digital scale, and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Authorities also noted the presence of an unrestrained child in the car at the time of the arrest.
Honore, a convicted felon, now faces a long list of charges, including:
Illegal Carrying of a Weapon with CDS
Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon
Possession of CDS in Presence of Persons Under 17
Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I (2 counts)
Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II
Resisting an Officer
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Child Passenger Restraint Violation
Driving Under Suspension
Improper Lane Usage
She remains in custody at the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center with no bond set at this time.
