CHUBBUCK, ID — A 38-year-old Fort Hall man, Isiah Apodaca, was arrested Monday night after a police standoff at a Motel 6 in Chubbuck, Idaho.

Officers were called to the scene after a report of a domestic disturbance. They found a female victim in the motel lobby who told emergency responders she had been assaulted by Apodaca. She was treated at the scene and later taken to a hospital for further care.

Apodaca had barricaded himself inside one of the motel rooms. After a brief standoff, police used force to enter the room and took him into custody without further incident.

He is now facing multiple charges, including:

Felony domestic battery

Resisting arrest

Obstructing an investigation

Failure to appear in court related to a prior marijuana possession case

Apodaca remains in custody as the case proceeds through the judicial system.
