Police have apprehended Isaac Dhliwayo, a 52-year-old man, in connection with a fraud case involving the alleged misappropriation of more than US$16,000 tied to a failed vehicle import transaction.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) reported that Dhliwayo was arrested on June 5, 2025, after a complainant accused him of deceiving them. The complainant had entrusted Dhliwayo with funds to import a 2016 Honda Vezel, valued at US$14,000.

Between November 2024 and April 2025, the complainant gave Dhliwayo a total of US$16,130 in cash. The extra amount was intended to cover importation fees and other miscellaneous costs.

Despite the funds, Dhliwayo did not deliver the vehicle as promised and is alleged to have used the money for personal purposes. Police investigations are ongoing.
