In a major breakthrough, Saharanpur Police have arrested five individuals linked to a high-profile jewellery heist at a CaratLane showroom, recovering gold and diamond ornaments valued at around Rs 3 crore. The operation included the arrest of three women among the accused.
The burglary took place under the jurisdiction of Sadar Bazar Police Station, with the suspects entering the showroom by breaking through a wall. The store manager reported the theft of gold and diamond jewellery, prompting an immediate investigation.
Police, with the assistance of the Sadar Bazar officers and the SWAT surveillance team, tracked and apprehended the suspects. The leading accused, Irshad, confessed to meticulously planning the heist and entering the store disguised as a scrap dealer. Authorities detained him and his accomplices as they attempted to offload the stolen goods.
The accused now face charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and legal proceedings are underway. The investigation continues to determine whether there are additional links to the crime.
